All patients may have a chaperone present for consultation, examination or procedure where they feel one is required. This applies to both male and female patients.
This chaperone may be a family member or friend. If you prefer a trained member of staff to be your chaperone, we ask you to make this request when you make your appointments so that arrangements can be made.
Please be aware that if you request a trained member of staff to be your chaperone and there is no-one available, we may need to re-schedule your appointment.
Your healthcare professional may also require a chaperone to be present for certain consultations in accordance with our chaperone policy.
